In about a months time my husband and I are going to be undertaking a garage-to-apartment conversion. We're hoping to be able to live in our converted apartment for the next four to five years while saving up to buy or build our own home. Did I mention that we also have a two and a half year old very active boy? Oh, not to mention that I'm also currently 8 and a half months pregnant with #2 :S So yeah, space is going to be a big issue over the next few years!
Luckily, the garage in question is quite large (for a garage anyway, not necessarily large for a home!) at approximately 6x7m with an upstairs loft measuring about 6x3m, giving us about 645 square metres of living space. The garage belongs to my extremely generous in-laws, who are unlike most in-laws in that I actually quite adore them! And I think they like me well enough too - or so I hope!
So for the moment this blog is mostly going to be a collection of ideas and inspiration and rumination. Eventually hopefully we'll be able to chronicle our progress and finally the end result! In the meantime feel free to check out my Pinterest board, Home Sweet Garage.
